While we liked the scent, it’s completely optional and doesn’t impact the effectiveness of the cleaning, so you can definitely forgo it if you’re sensitive to scents. When in use, the scent discs release a refreshing odor as you mop. A nice add-on to this steam cleaner is the built-in scent disc tray. We really like that the port that fills the tank is easy to access right at the top of the mop, so it’s easy to refill and doesn’t result in a leaky mess.
